OLHA NO QUE DEU

Desde cedo estamos submetidos a estereótipos de gênero, o que afeta nossas escolhas, atitudes e comportamento. Falamos com pais, crianças, educadores e pesquisadores da área para entender como esses paradigmas afetam crianças e como podemos apresentar ao público infantil a possibilidade de ser o que você quiser ser, independente do seu gênero e história.

Olha no que deu é um livro com o objetivo de estimular a igualdade de gênero e a valorizar a individualidade de cada um. Apresenta mulheres e homens brasileiros que romperam com o estereótipo de gênero dentro da sua área de trabalho. O livro também é repleto de atividades, que fazem com que as crianças aprendam sobre novos temas enquanto se divertem. Foram escolhidas personalidades brasileiras que agiram fora do que era esperado, seja por meio da sua história ou pela profissão que escolheram seguir.

From an early age, we are subjected to gender stereotypes which affect our choices, attitudes and behavior throughout our lives. In researching this theme, we talked to parents, children, and educators in order to understand how these socially inherited paradigms affect children.
After the research, we selected real life stories of people who defied their gender, birth and social history, becoming what they wanted to be. We hope their stories inspire new generations to also follow their hearts and dreams.

Olha no que deu (“Look what happened” in Portuguese) is a book with taims at stimulating gender equality by valuing the unique individuality of each one of us. It features Brazilian women and men who have broken the gender stereotypes within their area of work. The book is full of activities, which invite children to think about these questions while having great fun. The Brazilian personalities selected for the book acted outside of what was expected of their gender and their social origin, making their own trajectory unique and original.
