This charcuterie shoot is a gallery of the process from the conception of dinner time in Kurt's mind to the satisfaction of his hunger. There is a lot of emphasis throughout this shoot encompassing lines and balance with different tones to contribute to the mood and expression.
This photo uses emphasis on Kurt's face as he looks for something to eat. He seems to be unimpressed with his options. As you can see from the interior of the door, the view is from inside of the refrigerator, which is also the main source of light.
There is an emphasis drawing the eye to the cheese and Kurts face. There are a lot of nice lime greens and vivid reds all about the background that offer a balance. Speaking of drawing the eye, I guess this cheese drew Kurt's. That face is usually a good sign for cheese, because stink cheese just means more flavor.
Given that the goat cheese is covered in dried blueberries, I wanted to compliment that beautiful purple with a purple knife- that leads to the cheese -and a pink cutting board and help it contrast with the white in the cheese. It helps As Kurt cuts into a new goat cheese to add to the board, you can see the cheddar from before cheese is ready on a cutting board in the back.
There is a use of the line with the counter and wine and the value of this photo is hi-key lighting using the sunlight and the bar lights that contribute to the line. The story of this photo is a hyperbolic expression of loneliness. This is the selection of which Kurt gets to choose from to compliment his cheese.
This encompasses texture on the label in the foreground and the table cloth and tree in the background, the objects provide unity, as well as a pink tint on the photo to compliment the rosé. Kurt's face expresses his desperate desire for some wine to go with his cheese.
The value of this hi-key lighting highlights the high hopes for the food and wine to come. Kurt's head and hand filling the corners of this photo creates a balance around the wine.  His eyes are emphasized to show his anticipation and appreciation for his fresh opened bottle of wine.
The use of color threads through the kitchen integrating the berries and apples which symmetrically draw a line down the center of the field leading to an out of focus Kurt, who's preparing the other parts of the board. The fruit is fresh and appetizing as it draws the eye.
This is most definitely unity as the stack of snacks he's prepared all come together into one big bite into his mouth. I used a warmer tones to create the sense of bliss that emanates from Kurt's face. Whether it's his first or last bite, he is definitely in enjoyment.
You can see with this shallow depth of field that there is an emphasis on this last bit of wine that wont be there much longer. The bright reds and oranges in decor stand out with the wine in the spotlight. What better way to finish off an eclectic dinner full of meats, cheeses, crackers and fruits than a last swig of that sweet rosé?
The red, orange and gold tones in this photo are an ode to the warm feeling of a post meal nap. In this deeper depth of field, all of the damage that's been done, including Kurt achieving his goal of solving his hunger issue. Although it's not exactly symmetrical, it does show a balance.
