Documentary "Black Clothes"

Documentary "Black Clothes"
A short documentary video about a Khmer lady who has survived through the Khmer Rouge era. She shares the memories of how they were not allowed to wear their own clothes, but were given a piece of cloth that must be coloured black by using specific type of berries. We tried to reproduce the process of colouring, but we failed - which shows how difficult it was to do it.
I produced this video in a team of Khmer students when I was in my semester abroad in Cambodia.

Mapping Memories Cambodia (MMC) is a mobile app and website that tells place-based stories from the Khmer Rouge era. The app marks significant places from that time on the Cambodian map, and guides users to where historical events happened. Users can read and listen to stories told by survivors, experts and historians in multimedia format. All stories are written and produced by the students of the Department of Media and Communication (DMC) of the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP).
