I was briefed to creatively and graphically interpret the theme through my unique
personal graphic voice while celebrating ideas and issues raised by the
“the beguiling power of Africa’’.
I was dealing with objects and the memories they evoke. I see objects as the things that
present meaningful physical symbols without the objects, the stories won’t be strong.
I looked at South African icons, entertainers and the township lifestyle. Ordinary things
in homes take on new meaning through association with people and experiences.
