This is a series of short :30 animations promoting recycling at New York Jets games. They relate happy little nuggets of information about the benefits of recycling and tie them all back to football. I don't have a head for statistics, but the facts presented here are simple, relatable and interesting. They kinda make you go, "Wow, really? Cool." These things were a ton of fun to storyboard out, and I learned a lot along the way. They played exclusively at New York's MetLife Stadium, but I always thought they would have made terrific spots for the New York area.
Aluminum Recycling, :30. Did you realize that in one year, Waste Management recycles enough material to fill MetLife Stadium four times? It's a fact.
Glass Recycling, :30. The tidbit here is that, with our help, glass can essentially regenerate. It can be recycled endlessly, one glass bottle becoming another, and so on, and so on, and so on...
Aluminum Recycling, :30. Recycling one aluminum can will save enough energy to let you watch four hours of a Jets game on TV. Or, if you're like me, sleep through it.
Plastics Recycling, :30. Plastic bottles can be made into a lot of things. Even seats like those at MetLife Stadium. So they don't just hold water, they hold your ass too.
Paper Recycling, :30. Apparently you can recycle a newspaper seven times. Honestly, I don't know what happens to it on the eighth, but it's old news by then anyway.
Bagster Bag, :30. Waste Management makes this incredible home-improvement product, Bagster Bag. Essentially, it's a dumpster that folds up into a tidy green bag. You can carry it in one hand out of your local home improvement store, but once filled, it holds up to 3,300 pounds! In football terms, that amounts to a whole lot of Jets and a few of their cheerleaders.
Fluorescent Bulbs, :30. Here's a bright idea. Replace every old-fashioned bulb in your house with fluorescent ones and you could save enough dough to buy some Jets tickets.
Plastics Recycling, :30. This fact will keep you warm on a cold winter's night: Five PET bottles, through the magic of recycling, can create enough fiberfill to stuff a jacket.
