This is my last university project, as well as thesis project. The project focused on children and families, the aim was to create a store for a well-known organic brand: Alce Nero, able to welcome children and families giving them the chance to have a playful and educational experience. After an analysis of the history of the biological, its benefits and what the customers of the biological think of it; have been analyzed also the various types of store: from large distributions organized to small shops under the house that in recent years are having a great success.

The initial idea for this store was not to use technology to stay in line with the principles of organic and Alce Nero. The entire store has been designed in such a way as to have the least consumption of material and with ecological or recyclable materials (cardboard and wood). The focal part of this project is the central structure: a tree, symbol of life and family; this structure, as purely aesthetic, has been realized through the use of cardboard and without waste of material. Another main element of the store is the counter where the payment activities are carried out, customer reception and Juice Bar. Inside the store a floor and wall wayfinding project has been inserted to guide children but also to allow adults to focus at the first moment the food departments and save time while shopping.

In order to create a“playful environment” two different activities have been designed for children depending on their age; the first activity (children from 3 to 5 years) consists of a treasure hunt: the child, when the parent buys a product in a certain department, will stamp on the paper sheet the symbol of that food department, once at the checkout the child will receive a prize depending on how many stamps he has made. The second activity (children from 6 to 10 years old but also adults ) consists in creating their own fruit juice with the fruit extractor present at the bar of the Juice Bar, Once done the child can go and sit in the children’s area where he will find a game that will allow him to learn the production process of fruit juices.
