Collegefluency for Parents podcast logo and branding

I worked with Rochester Institute of Technology to create visual branding and graphics to promote a podcast providing parents insider information on the college admissions process—everything from applying to schools, to financial aid, and more. The goal of the podcast, in addition to better informing parents and prospective students, is to position RIT as a leader in this space.

During the intake process, it became clear that, although this podcast was a digital product of RIT, it should be branded as a standalone product, as it would cover college admissions at large. At the same time, it still needed to fall under the master brand at a high level.
I began by researching the current landscape of podcast visuals, specifically those in the higher education market. The goal here is to speak in a visual language that the target audience understands, while standing out from the crowded landscape.
I explored several design treatments that visually represented the casual, conversational nature of the podcast.
Ultimately, a direction featuring bold typography, iconography, and a bold blue background was chosen.
Deliverables were created for various podcast distribution platforms, which required some back-and-forth to ensure the best formatting in various crops and sizes.
The results were well received by the client, and have garnered positive feedback from all involved in the podcast production.
