I was commissioned by the Vancouver Mural Festival trough Jeff Hamada and Drew Young to paint a 100 x 19 feet wall for the 2019 edition. We worked seven days with a team of three painters and the huge help of fifteen volunteers. 

The idea behind the mural was very simple. I used to have a studio one street down from this corner; every day I used to go up hill to grab a coffee, take a break and walk a bit this beautiful neighborhood that is Mount Pleasant. The drawing reflects that momento of joy, go out and walk a bit on these streets with so many trees and flowers. 

A mural has imperfections. It has holes and patches. It has bricks that you can see on this case. All of these adds up to create a feeling around my design that you can find only at that corner. All these elements, plus the design full of patterns and shapes full of color create a really nice feeling. A mural is a very tangible piece, you can appreciate it from far as a whole or come closer and immerse yourself between this three huge characters with their very big arms and legs full of color.
