After deciding as a group to continue with the active form project, I then found it difficult to develop my ideas and integrate with the project. I feel that no longer being group leader led my organisation skills to become weaker and my commitment to the project wasn’t as strong as it had previously been.

 

Market and Business: I feel that my understanding and idea generation became stronger by focusing on a target market. By contributing concepts to ways in which our product could be modified allowed me to think in more depth about what would appeal to our target market whilst considering the persona and the user focus.

Form and aesthetics: I feel that this project developed my skills in terms of the way a product looks. I now feel more comfortable when exploring different appearances and I now understand how changing the aesthetics of a product can enhance its features and make it more appealing to a wider market of people. I feel that I can now use shapes more effectively after having inspiration for the film “planet savage”. In future I will look deeper for inspiration and corporate this inspiration into my future designs.

 

Materials and fabrication: I feel disappointed that a prototype was not create as I feel it would have enhanced the appearance of the product and really bring it to life; however this was not possible due to the complexity of the product. From this however, I have learned that CAD modelling can sometimes be just as effective as a prototype would be, if modelled in detail.

 

Mixed and integrated perspective: Each member of the group worked well together, splitting tasks up according to ability and areas in which some group members wanted to develop or practice. At the end of the project I was happy with the contribution I had made to the group and fell that the other group members were happy with their own and others contributions too. Therefore the group work and task management worked effectively.

 

After completing the project I feel that my creativity has grown to a large extent and I feel that sharing ideas and skills has enabled me to be more confident in proposing ideas. Although I found it difficult to progress with the project this time, as I couldn’t see which direction to head in I still feel happy with the outcome and feel that as a group we still stuck to our metaphor of value well. I felt pressured for time and from this I will work on my organisation skills in the future. I think creating a gannt chart again may have benefitted this project. I also think that I could be more open minded about developing the original idea. I think that as i was pelased with the end point of the active form project originally I felt that I struggled to make changed but will improve on this in future tasks.
