Mohamed Rizk was infected with poliovirus as a child, which cost him his ability to walk at an early age. Determined and resourceful, Rizk overcame many of the systemic and societal barriers faced by Egyptians with disabilities, including lack of access to formal education and adequate employment opportunities.
Rizk hosted Mada Masr in his home in Shenira village, east of the Nile Delta city of Tanta. He shared his story, introduced us to his friends and brought us along to his work as a tuk tuk driver, offering us a glimpse into his life, the challenges he faces and his future aspirations.
