William Shakespeare "Macbeth" scene design and costume

William Shakespeare
"MACBETH"
2019
Scene design and costume for the second year of Vilnius Academy of Arts.
At all times man was enticed by power. As if having power in your own hands would be some irrefutable proof that you exist. Macbeth was also a man with a dream of power and authority, but his dreams suddenly became reality.
whose overriding ambition and thirst for power cause him to abandon his morals and bring about the near destruction of the kingdom he seeks to rule.
I wanted to make a scene design for this play merely symbolic. Basically it consists of two elements, the field in the background and a metal, rustic and a bit claustrophobic foreground. The most part of the play happens in that metal part of scenography, but sometimes the translucent thick glass panels move and you see the back plan.
Macbeth is not talking with some magic creatures or witches, as it was written in the play, but to himself. But he thinks, that witches exist, because he don't want to take full responsibility for his actions. He just believes, that everything he does is because of prophecy.  For that a giant meadow appears on the horizon, snarling, whispering, lulling, like witches in Lithuanian folklore, which abducts people children and then sing them lullabies. Macbeth looks at this field with some nostalgic feeling, listens to those whispers. Bu he can't see that this field takes his friends, who became enemies to him.
The question of God in this play especially struck me. Not even the very existence of God, but salvation itself and the question of repentance for the penitent. Does anyone will be forgiven, just because they regret it and by prayers try to return to that God-given path?It sounds like justification for all the human insanity that has been on earth for all those millions of years. But if we believe, that this idea is true, then Macbeth is as innocent as other characters, because we can call him a believer in full faith. So one the one hand, faith is making Macbeth a very positive character, but when faith turns into the physical body of Macbeth, when he himself no longer remains a man, but an idea which has no human feelings or emotions, but an insurmountable desire to achieve a goal, that attribute becomes a curse for anyone walking across that goal, whether it's a friend or an enemy.
Costumes for this play is inspired by catwalk fashion, but i repainted it with some medieval feeling to it. I did not rely on color, but rather on the structure and details. While sketching, I chose contrast as a support point, which shows in black and white and later it helped me with color.
This is one example how with a base of sketch i created a color option for clothing with a totally different technique.

My interpretation of William Shakespeare's the most bloodiest play "Macbeth".
