Visual identity for Norwegian artist Eirik Lyng


Sony Music Norway was going to launch a new young pop artist, Eirik Lyng, and I was asked to create a visual identity and branding in collaboration with the creative team at Sony Music Norway. It was important that it could break through the clutter, so we set off to create a simple, yet robust, visual language that definitely would help Eirik stand out. The photography was set to have a retro feeling to it, so I worked with a palette that could be adjusted and accommodated to the final photo. 
We wanted to keep the typography and layouts extremely simple, and the identity and logo is set in Sharp Sans Display No 2 from Sharp Type. To make sure that titles and tour dates stood out in the layouts too we emphasized it by filling in the counters and eyes of the letters. Outside of logo and artwork, tour posters and merch were also designed.
