Imagine explores impossibility and the joy of reading fiction. The viewer is invited into a story where our scholarly porpoise friend also is lost in a dream of flight.
From sketch to color and inking, this drawing took on many rendering styles, but ultimately what was important was the lighting being vivid and clear. This intermittent draft shows how the light was changing to come from the imagined plane and used to blur the line of reality further.
As the viewer explores, suspension of disbelief is encouraged and then symbolized in the imaginary being as real as what we can see.
