15 Illustrations done for Airbnb Magazine Smoky Mountains feature. Done in graphite, ink, and digital. I grew up in middle Tennessee, so it was a special treat to illustrate the famous national park so close to home. The inspiration came from various folk art patterns and quilting, along with the tremendous amount of wildlife and earth tones found throughout this part of the states. The goal was to keep it authentic and keep the hand drawn quality in the illustrations, less pristine lines and clean cut edges, and more loose expression.
The typography in the map was all hand lettered, as well as the signage on the opener. Special thanks to AD Nick Mrozowski for the hard work that went into putting this beast together!
