Sit·Folio is a collaborative study among 4 industrial designers regarding the possibilities for optimisations to seating configuration and design for a shuttle bus service at the Savannah College of Art & Design.

The design revolves around a modified passenger coach based on the Ford E350 chassis platform.  Art students have been found toting bulky kits and portfolios in addition to personal luggage. 

 

The short duration of travel leading to rapid ingress and quick egress creates uncomfortable bottlenecks in the current single aisle seating configuration. 

 

This inevitably leads to inconsistent periods of bus stoppages for pick-ups and subsequently frequent overall delays in the bus schedule.

 

Through immersive research and user testing, a revamped seating layout and seat design was conceived in the hope of making the experience of commuting to classes much more pleasant
