Salvation Army's Pathway of Hope Lifts People

A Certified Public Accountant and the managing partner of Wittig CPAs, Larry Wittig possesses more than 40 years of experience in serving his clients’ accounting needs. Also the president and owner of Tamaqua Transfer & Recycling, Inc., Larry Wittig gives back to his community by being a member of the local Tamaqua Salvation Army board of directors. In that capacity he chaired the leadership gifts committee to raise over 1.4 million dollars for the construction of the new down town Salvation Army building.

The Tamaqua Salvation Army is part of a larger network of Salvation Army locations in Eastern Pennsylvania. One of the ways the Salvation Army assists people struggling in the community is through its Pathway of Hope program.

The initiative provides targeted services to those living in poverty, especially families with children, to help change the course of their lives. These individuals often move from crisis to crisis without adequate support to get back on their feet. Pathway of Hope social workers help families achieve stability by connecting them with tangible resources and customized support systems that can help break the cycle of intergenerational poverty.
