Hide This Book From Your Parents! A Guide to Stop Your Parents' Divorce From Ruining Your Life is a guidebook for teens whose parents are getting divorced or have already divorced. Hide This Book From Your Parents! Provides teens with the resources they need to help overcome this tough time in their life and help them realize that their parents' divorce doesn't have to ruin their lives. I wanted to share my personal story with teens to show them that they aren't alone, they have a friend, and that they can get through this. Teens can pick up and read this book when they are scared, confused, upset, or angry to find the answers and comfort they are looking for. I offer my own stories, experiences, tips and tricks on how to get through fights, break ups, emotions, moving, step families, and much more. I used icons to symbolize different emotions, or situations they now have to face, and bright colors to keep the book gender neutral.
Final Book Design...The title of the book is only on the belly band so teens can remove it and their parents or anyone else won't know what they are reading.
Graphic Design Senior Exhibition
For the exhibition I had copies of my book that people could pick up and flip through. As takeaways, I created stickers as well as mini cards. The mini cards contained a QR Code, where people could buy their own copies of my book, and a link to my Tumblr page, Teens of Divorce Advice.
This was the header for my Tumblr page. Teens can ask questions, seek advice, or share their story. The benefit of this page is that they do not have to share their name with me they can be completely anonymous. Teens can also connect with others who are going through similar situations or read other teen's questions for advice or help.
