Our Harvest Food Co-Op

Client

The Greater Cincinnati Food Hub Working Group

Objective

The purpose of the project was to create a visible presence, public point of reference, and physical location for a new union-worker-owned cooperative business in Northside, a Cincinnati neighborhood. Project elements for the site included a food processing facility, community kitchen, open reception area with gallery, mobile demonstration kitchen, office space, a restaurant, and a market. Other aspects of the site included a logo, color studies, interior and exterior signage, market packaging, apparel, advertisements, help kiosk, and website design.

Solution

When deciding on a concept, our group found the word “fusion” to be inspiring. Our concept was centered around the combination of different elements into one cohesive whole. This speaks to how Our Harvest combines a market, restaurant, and other components into one unified entity. We branded the different elements cohesively, using greens and leaves, which transcend the branding to the interior design as well. However, we still wanted to emphasize their different purposes of the food hub’s different parts. To do so, we gave each component a different name: “Our Harvest” for the market, “The Grean Leaf” for the restaurant, and
“O-H-I-GROW” for the educational center.
