Hairspray (2007) is a movie musical that has a really fun and playful feel while still addressing some sophisticated and serious themes throughout. It is set in 1962 Baltimore, Maryland and discusses impactful subjects such as racism, fatphobia,
and individuality. With this design, I wanted to accentuate the playful feeling and uniqueness portrayed in the musical, but bring in some authentic kinds of textures
and patterns to pull in sophisticated hints of its early 60s roots.

The title and all of the names are comprised of hand-drawn letters, designed, edited, and perfected to fit together in their arrangements.
