When I first saw the landscape it seemed deserted and harsh, but also very impressive and untouched and I noticed immediately the differences in scale. Smaller landscapes are found in the larger landscape; the On an even smaller level, micro structures and processes can be found within the small landscapes. Each scale contains the other scales and can tell a story.
There is a connection between the sea deposing rocks on the shore, the erosion taking place on land and melting water going back into the sea. It is a circular movement. I believe these observations are an important part of the site and essential in order to understand it.

There is a clash between large scale and small scale on the site, between infinite seascape and the finite landscape, between the savage nature and the fishing industry, between the forces of nature and the modest power of man. It is these differences and the qualities of the nature already on site that is my point of departure for the interventions the project proposes. This particular line, or even border, can be seen as a transitional form or transition zone between the land and the sea. The definition of the word coast is precisely this place where the land and sea meet and it is a place of eternal fascination.

Most of all it is a project conveying and intensifying existing natural qualities in their purity and elegant simplicity. The additions I propose are results of my observations and understanding of the site. Each intervention is characterized by its shape and its relation to the surroundings - terrain, land use, objects, processes and patterns.
The project contains an analysis of the eight selected sites using ten different criteria. Two intermezzos describe the scale- and pattern analysis and is followed by the selection of the sites of intervention. Finally the project concludes with the three proposals.
