drip : a parametric stool

prompt: break down design solution into individual parameters
solution: a fully customizable catenary stool
I used Rhinoceros to model the initial massing of the stool, from there I reverse engineered the process it would take to actually fabricate this piece. By breaking down the problem into its' components the resulting Grasshopper script made it possible for this stool to be scaled and manipulated into many different configurations.

What are these furry little dudes?

The cute creatures playing around this document came about from my exploring wood as a primary material for the stool. Using a softwood would give the stool a soft velvety feeling, and as it sat in your home the resins in the wood will release a lovely pine forest smell. The creatures are ermine, basically a white weasel, which tunnel and leap around in the snow of the Wasatch Mountains where I grew up.
