Tissue Drawing for Landscape Narrative

This work is about Landscape Narrative, from Studio Cultures in Leigh Creek (South Australia). I create my own technique – Tissue Drawing to demonstrate different aspects of tourism in this area. This technique is a combination of Drip Painting (Jason Pollock & Seb Farrington) and scrunched tissue. The inspiration for this comes from Urban Tissue Method in Urbanism. Besides, I choose Drip Painting because this kind of technique is very natural and unpredictable in same way with the development of natural environment. The colorfield from drip painting will be a record of landscape in an abstract way. This is a kind of mapping that all colors will determine the qualities and characteristics of the drawings and the site. Therefore, it is beneficial to demonstrate the arid landscape of Leigh Creek. On the other hand, I personally suppose that  landscape narrative is not only about technique but also our "nodes of interest" from the site, our experience and feelings. Thus, colorfield from drip painting will be  like " a fluid space" in Stan Allen's discussion "Field Conditions", which focus on local inter-connectivity, the artist and viewers in one minimum space. With regard to scrunched tissue, this technique creates organic lines and form which are similar to topography. This will nicely represent the context of Leigh Creek with terrain and soil texture as main elements of arid landscape.
