A series inspired by exploring the relationship between line and negative space through clean line-art and limited line-work. Inspired by Lo-Fi music.

My goal was to look at how lines create recognizable boarders that we use to distinguish form. Then removing the lines to see how these boarders can be maintained thought solid color blocking.

The limited color pallet of Salmon (pink) and teal came from the Idea to rhythmically channel mood the way low-fi music does through repetition of simple audio samples. The two colors, pink and teal, are not colors associated with aggression, but much like red and blue they are often used to represent the  two opposing forces.

The animated film Akira also explores themes of complex emotional aggression between two friends who become enemies.
