Open circuit is my senior project about our data being exposed and being roamed around random places. The project was inspired by how my private message and internet history was continually being used for corporate advertisements. As a person who has been interested in data, I decided to create a narrative motion project that abstractly visualized the interconnectivity of personal data.
To strengthen the message of the project, I decided to use as many different visual techniques for a single project. Since I've always been interested in different kinds of visual methods, I decided to use those techniques into one project. It was a good excuse for me to purchase robot arms, dot matrix display, nixie tube, 7-segment display, and so on. It was a challenge for me to create unity while using different kind of visual techniques.
