Dashboard / Welcome Mode
RepreZen API Studio is built on the Eclipse integrated development environment. It's a powerful platform, but the UI is very dated, and we needed a way to engage users immediately with clear onboarding steps and learning resources.
The center panel is the API Studio Dashboard, built with Bootstrap v3 and hosted in an embedded browser control. The Dashboard initially displays in Welcome Mode, with three suggested actions and two video playlists, organized within an accordion control. An alert box encourages the user to switch to Active Mode once they're ready to start working.
Dashboard / Active Mode
Active Mode contains four panels in a three-column responsive layout. It provides a visual and self-describing launchpad for the most common commands, which is easier to comprehend and navigate than the toolbar buttons, which are limited to 16x16 pixels.
