Commission: Izzy
Feb. 2016
I was commissioned to paint a watercolor illustration of the client’s pet Boston Terrier, Izzy. She had requested a fancy border and provided many reference photos of the puppy. Together, we decided on which combination of reference photos would be best for the finished painting, and I provided some sketches of potential frame concepts that would work well with the composition of the piece.
The client had chosen which composition and frame she liked the most, and then I drew up a rough sketch.
We also briefly considered the whole image to have a painted background.
The illustration was painted on 300lbs watercolor paper, and the final size came out to 11.5” x 8.5”.
“Commission: Izzy” Feb. 2017. Watercolor, graphite, white gouache, Adobe Photoshop. 11.5" x 8.5"
The commission was for the digital scan of the painted illustration.
Happily be!
