An SPMS Story - I'm Still Kenny
Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis sucks! One mans journey with the disease echoes—’I’m still here.’ Kenny kindly shares a bit of his journey with SPMS, helping us understand and have compassion for others dealing with the various forms of MS.

This was our first foray into 360/VR video. It was a ton of work and a huge learning experience, but we’re excited to continue working with this technology.

"I'm Still Kenny" was rendered at 8k using Cinema 4D and Octane. Coming in at 3:06, we rendered almost 4,500 frames with render times ranging from 1 minute to 10 minutes, depending on the complexity of the scene. We composited the film in After Effects with the help of the newly added VR toolset. Samm also used Houdini, X-Particles, and the Pixel Sorter plugin.
In order to keep render times low, we only used one man in bed model. Instead of duplicating the geometry, we added reflective planes around the scene creating an infinite scene.
The bird animation was created in Houdini, then exported out as an alembic file. We used X-Particles for the letters and set them up to attract to the bird geometry.
