Salt & Cedar is a letterpress studio located in the heart of Detroit’s Eastern Market historic district. The goal of this project was to create a new logo, promotional booklet, and website.
The new logo is inspired by gears located inside the Vandercook press. Salt & Cedar sees itself as an essential “gear” in maintaining not only Eastern Market, but the letterpress community as a whole.
Branching off from the logo, the identity holistically pays homage to the aesthetic of printmaking. This is accomplished by the use limited color palette, and the font used for most of the header copy.
