UNICREDIT HUB

This is an academic project in collaboration with Unicredit Architecture Project Manager. 

I have been asked to rethink facade and dome-roof system, which is covering a small kidergarten space of Unicredit Hub located in Milano. As drawings show below facade has been project as an active element, providing energy through small design solar pannels, while a green wall is regulating solar exposition of walls by season needs.

Dome structure has been redesigned from a previouse glass-concrete shell to a flat mass wood structure. Five types of steel plates have been specifically designed each in order to join 4 wooden elements on which frame fixed double glazed windows. Central ring act as a circular beam and give stability to the flat-dome, which it is garanteed by a second underlower bracing.
