Objective: The goal was to form a self-initiated project and develop a design construct of a personal choosing with a substantial component output. For this project, I chose to create the branding and promotional materials needed for the launch of a new and upcoming band, Circa Horizon.
Concept: Circa Horizon is an alternative rock band formed by four life-long friends with a passion for music. I worked alongside the band to create a visual identity and promotional materials for an initial launch. The components included logo design, CD packaging, and merchandise elements such as apparel, posters, and stickers. I also developed a website design for the band. The designs were created to reflect the band's musical style and aesthetic while also creating a unique identity that would provide recognition from the competitive music industry.
The design uses a surreal and abstract take on horizon imagery. The CD package consists of an outside jacket that contains a sleeve to hold the CD as well as the informational booklet. The outside jacket uses diagonal die cuts to partially reveal the design of the sleeve inside.
