HIDDEN - SHORT FILM
Early on into the production I was the organizer of the group. I made sure assignments were turned in on time and keep everyone up to date with the direction of our ideas.
As the film progress and roles were assigned, I eventually became the director and coordinator of the project. I worked with the rest of the group members as well as the actors throughout the entirety of the project.
I always knew the whole filming process was hectic. Sometimes you don't always get what you want. Actors aren't available, you didn't get the shot you wanted.... There will always be something that will make you lose sleep.
Working in a group has both its advantages and disadvantages, which is why making sure everyone works as a team is the key to a successful project.
The outdoor environment provided its own set of challenges. Wind, Sun, Clouds, Rain, we were constantly at the mercy of the weather.
As an aspiring director my biggest growth was learning to be quick on making decisions while working with actors. The whole experience gave me confidence to work with people in order to get a specific shot.
Something that I'll definitely keep in mind for next time is the importance of rehearse. Spending time with the actors before shooting will make the end result that much better if done so.
