This place is every Tim Burton fans dream! The inspiration behind this brochure, was based off an incredibly fun and spontaneous trip to LA. Visiting this place was like stepping into an actual Burton movie. From the music, to the drinks and the fun character interactions, this place is filled with references from your favorite childhood movies!
Starting with the front cover I went through a lot of trial and error. I wanted to keep things simple but enough to incorporate everything that the bar stands for, which is basically an homage to the great director. I started off with beetlegeuce, but it didn't fit right as the bar has various characters all around. So I went with the iconic Jack Skellington on the hill scene and blended in other characters in the background with the moon.
For the review page I didn't want to go with the original "5 out of 5 stars" so I kept things relatable by adding beetles instead. I think it adds a bit of fun to the concept and it connects to the back cover of the brochure.
I originally had this as two separate pages one being food and the other drinks. However after some feedback from my colleagues they felt that the attention to detail made it feel more like a menu, rather than a brochure. So instead I decided to combine the two and call it "Fan Favorites" I think this helps take out that menu feel because these are just staple pieces consumers seem to enjoy the most
One of the biggest struggles of the brochure was the Entertainment page. Because it felt pretty self explanatory, the lack of text made things look bland compared to the rest of the brochure. So rather than keep the images enclosed in a border like I had it in the beginning I wanted to bring attention to the "jokers playing cards" and used a fanned out deck of cards. I think it adds a nice touch and distracts you from the fact that the text is kind of just floating in the center.
