The Great Gatsby
by Scott F. Fitzgerald
The Great Gatsby is an impossible love story between Gatsby and Daisy, two members of the high class society in the NYC. Nick Carraway, the narrator of the story and Daisy's cousin, is fascinated by Gatsby and creates a commentary on excessive wealth during the 1930s.
A mix of Photoshop and Illustrator, I learned a lot from this project about Photoshop. All of the designs including the "Gatsby" title were made in illustrator and imported to Photoshop. All of the colors were edited in Photoshop which was challenging as I learned to select the color changes in each overlapping layers. The yellow was selected because it reminds me of the color of Gold which represents the excessive wealth in the book. Instead of representing Gatsby like most of the other book covers, I chose to represent Daisy as she is the burning factor of the demise of the character in the story.
