Paper Doll
The goal of this project was to create an original paper doll. Along with the doll, we needed to create three outfits and a stand. The dolls design had to be original and unique.

Going into this project, I knew I wanted to create a doll version of an original character I created years ago. I debated whether I should design a doll version (example: with button eyes, patches, and seams) or a childlike version of my OC. I ultimately decided
to design a preteen half-vampire. For the style, I decided to keep it simple by going with mostly geometric shapes.

For this project, I strictly used Adobe Illustrator. I began by creating shapes for the head and neck. I then I created the torso and legs. The last part of the body created was the arms. Next, was the face. For the face I used custom shapes and the pen tool. Once the main body was created, I then moved onto the outfits. The medieval dress was the first outfit created. I then moved on to the superhero-esque outfit. Lastly was the fun modern outfit. I then added a dotted line around the figures to show where to cut. Finally, I created the stand.

During this project, I learned a lot about the pathfinder tool. I mostly used the pathfinder tool to create the outfits by using her main body as a base and then overlaid shapes. This project has improved my skills with the pathfinder and pen tool. I struggled with the short timeline on this project. I definitely want to learn better time management skills in the future.
