When creating the covers for each album, it was important to do research on not only who these artists are, but what music means to them. If you get to the heart of what music means to an artist, then you can visualize that ideal into something that speaks to an album. The Smoking Gum was a homage piece to the band Pink Floyd, had they continued to work together, with their criticism of capitalist and isolationist policy that naturally lead them into something about exploitation of resources. Jack Stauber is a recent up and coming musician and animator who prides himself on his unique style and sound, making great use of simple but twisted concepts of mundane life. His tools of the trade visually consist of 70s to 90s equipment and VCR filters to create an old classic feel of sitting home and seeing a strangle TV program on at night when most stations would already be off the air.

The Snow Birds album cover was a piece and band made entirely from scratch, for their first album called Consensual Traffic. There was always an appreciation of weird, out of left field type names and songs, and an album would be a great window to work in for something more personal to let my own style and work shine on its own, rather than through merits and nostalgia for existing artists and ideas.
