MTV IDENT
MTV was first launched on Saturday, August 1, 1981, with the phrase, “Ladies and gentlemen, rock and roll”, and the first music video played on MTV was “Video Killed the Radio Star” by The Bugles. Since the very beginning, MTV was designed as a platform for music videos. These videos were played 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and were chosen by video jockeys, or VJs as the station called them.
CONCEPT & INSPIRATION
Concept and inspiration by MTV’s artist ident work, where each of the idents tell a story itself. Using my own style of design and implanted in MTV’s ident like all the artist ident using their own style interpreted. How all the ident are not makes sense and not event related with the channel which show a music video example animation by Robin Velghe, FLAWLESS as his theme wanted to do something with the funny contrast between the laid-back attitude of a skateboarder and the meticulous execution of a gymnastic.
IDENT 1 - VALENTINE (LOVE)

For the production stage, first making the love in adobe after effect using pen-tools only shaping the heart into half. then create the movement by change the position and rotate some of the movement of each half of the heart to create break apart. After adjusting the movement of having the heart breaking apart, using adobe animate creating the tearing liquid part for the love to give impact. First render the movement in after effect then import into the adobe animate. Making a new layer to create one by one keyframe the tearing liquid style using brush tools only.
IDENT 2 - BUBBLEGUM

For this production, using only shape and pen-tools on adobe after effect to make illustrate a form of character and adjust the timing also added a turbulence displacement and roughen edge to give bubblegum effect by add amount and size of turbulence displacement effect.
After finish illustrated of the character, I pre-comp the shape into one. Then using the shape layer to to give a simple background and pen-tools to make the light shining at the character as if the light street pole beside her put the anchor point at left upper side of the light shape so I can adjust the movement the street light using rotating only as the light move to side to side.
IDENT 3 - CATS

For ident 3, I create a new character which is the cats, each cats have different emotion and personality. Same as the girl using only shapes and pen tools to create the face cats.
To get the cats rotate circle around her I create a null layer and the point put it in middle of her and rename as null center then duplicate the layers and adjust the position where the character will rotate and rename it circle null. each character has their own circle null. The circle null will be parent with the center null, then each character needs to be parent with their own circle null. After position each of the character. adjust the timing of the circle rotate and the character will rotate surrounding the main object which is the girl
IDENT 4 - CATS 2.0

First create the main character movement which is the cat walking. Using the shape tools and pen tools to create the character image. to make it the movement by adjust path, position and the rotate of the shape. Duplicate the cats into ore cats to give the pattern looks. For the logo, change the illustrate into shape vector layer . then masking into the solid layer to create the look and scale down the logo to create the zoom out
IDENT 5 - HALLOWEEN (WITCHCRAFT)

First I created the witchcraft shape, the devil silouhette body and the character using shape tools then timin g the rotating.Then creating the floating paper surrounding the character. First created a shape layer and make a paper shape then add a effect which is CC Page turn to give the folding effect and then adjust the position and ther rotation of each paper and set timing where it should be floating around.For the logo same as the paper, using the CC page turn to give the fold image.
