Above is my gradient mesh of Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Adobe illustrator has gradient mesh tools which I used in order to replicate Redmayne's face. I had to used multiple meshes to create the smaller details on his face. For the eyes in particular, I needed multiple layers of meshes so that I could get all of the shadows around his eyes separate from the color of his iris. I made the background a picture frame in order to help justify the illustrated aesthetic that the meshes had.
