3D Animation of the Smoking'Jo Skull
I'm really excited to release this project and I hope you enjoy it. The concept here is to animate the Vape produced by the client, then animate their logo after the Vape animation.

It was the first time I worked with Zbrush, it was a big challenge for me because I had never used it before. I learned it so quickly for this project and it took me two weeks to understand the main brushes and tools to sculpt everything. I Sculpted the Skull of their logo as an animator by trying each time to separate the skull as much as I could, in order to refine interesting shapes for a good animation.

I also combined Cinema 4D with Zbrush to speed work faster for some 3D blocking. I used the HB ModellingBundle Script in Cinema 4D for the retopology and then, I unwrapped UV of all of that with Unfold3D and I finally textured it with Substance Painter.

I am very grateful to my man Romain Meinieux who helped me to model the whole environment and after that, I repeated the same process of the skull by unwrapping UV and texturing.

I used Octane render and a Script for my man Yvan Feusi for all the 4k rendering, it took me two months (one month for the environment and the rest of the time for the skull, vapes, text and steams).

The Script of Yvan Feusi really helped me to solve a very big problem because the final rendering had to be in 4k for that, I had to export 8k maps from Substance Painter. For a project like this, forget the rendering with an 8k maps. The only way is to convert 8K maps to 4k, 2k and 1k maps then try to modify the maps of the objects according to their distances from the camera.

If it had to be done manually, it would take me a lot of time because my animation took 1,600 images.  However, with his script, you can decrease or increase the resolution of maps with a click. I used it by animating the directories of 1k, 2k, 4k and 8k maps, according to the position of my camera relative to certain objects. If the camera is close to an object, I could click on the script to load 8K map for that object and when the camera goes so far, I could click on the script to load 1k map and create a key frame for this action if I want.
