This was the winning entry for a short, intense design competition to transform the Penn State campus by removing the middle third of an existing building, reskin the building and provide additional classroom space and pedestrian access. My solution utilized a single element, a sheet of metal, to resolve all of the problems. This idea was inspired by digital manufacturing and my experience as a metal fabricator.
