This project has been constructed by taking inspiration from the character of Death in the book, The Book Thief. The true essence and the slight nuances of the character has been taken into account for the construction of this specific corseted gown. Throughout the book it has been mentioned that Death does not have a face, that it represents itself to different people in so many different ways. That has been explained in this garment through the usage of the mirrors and the intangibility of the concept of Death has been explored through the numerous layers on the gown. The colours represent Death and Humanity - how they go hand in hand.
