This is a weaving based project where I've used compound weaves to realise samples based on an inspiration, wet roads with reflections in this case. One can see the inspiration images along with the major key words describing the theme below.
What one sees below is the first warp that I wove based on the mentioned theme. It was a double cloth/ double weave warp, with one warp of linen singles (black) and the other being of metallic yarn (multi-colour).
The colour palette and the initial artworks followed by the woven samples can be seen below the following image.
A sample based on double weave, on the loom and off the loom.

Another sample based on double weave. With linen woven into linen at the back and metallic yarn woven into metallic yarn at the face resulting into a completely reflective surface.
This sample is also double cloth. The image on the left shows the back of the sample and the one on the right shows the face.
Another double cloth with black cotton woven into both the warps.
This sample is an example of extra warp where the metallic yarn warp served the purpose of the extra warp. The image on the left shows the face of the fabric and the one on the right shows the back.

The next warp that I wove was based on the structure called special warp and special weft. Both the warps that were set were of black cotton 2/60s. Whereas in the weft in addition to cotton, I used rayon and zari as well.
The colour palette and paper concepts along with the woven samples can be seen below the following image.

Basic plain weave woven on the same warp.
Another example of special warp and special weft.
In this particular sample I incorporated extra weft with special warp and special weft.
