Recontruct the beautiful Chinese typographic forms
The intention of this thesis is to investigate typographic communication in Taiwan. Study into this topic includes the national historical and linguistic aspects that connect to traditional Chinese written language. Additionally, upcoming worldwide design trends will be investigated as a means to look for a niche for the future of Taiwanese visual communication. Based on an exploration of traditional Chinese characters and typographic communication, along with the upcoming prospects, this thesis will seek to establish an identifiable Taiwanese typographic visual language.
The message of this visual project is to encourage Taiwanese designers to see new possibilities in Taiwanese typographic communication, especially the vast potential of traditional Chinese characters. Furthermore, it will stimulate Taiwanese designers’ thoughts on presenting the essence of Taiwanese culture through typographic elements.
