Returning client, The Acorn Group, worked closely with MPL to create a public-facing ground floor office with an urban warehouse feel. A basement was also included in this project, with an interior design inspired by a deluxe ski lodge.

The client had a strong idea of what the two different floors should look like – each having its own distinct feel but still sitting cohesively within The Acorn Group’s brand identity. We were asked to produce 3D plans – setting out the final layout design and interior finish - to see how the two themes gelled together before work started on site.

We defined the ground floor using urban elements, including exposed air conditioning ducts, an untreated ceiling, imitation brick vinyl wallpaper, cool shades of grey and a false wall finished with a 3D concrete-effect cladding, now housing a recessed digital screen. Completing the ground floor is a private meeting space, enclosed by bespoke brushed steel upright slats that have been sprayed in Acorn’s distinctive corporate red.
