ASB 2012

The non-profit Ossabaw Island Foundation inspires, promotes and manages exceptional educational, cultural and scientific resources that are designed to maximize the experience of Ossabaw Island, while minimizing the impact on its resources.

In this project, I design T-shirts for participants of special overnights that are hosted each year. The T-shirts are for the New years star gazing and sea turtle watching trips. I also design Ossabaw souvenirs for the on-island store.

For the star-gazing T-shirts, my idea is to combine the stars and the map of the island.

I also came up with a typeface to go with that star map.
The second T-shirt shows the turtle's eyes looking at a starry sky. This helps combine both the turtle watching and the star gazing trips.
The Ossabaw Island Foundation's budget is limited; most of it goes to education, research, historic preservation, culture, science and other activities on or related to Ossabaw Island. Therefore, its souvenirs, which will be given away to the visitors, have to be inexpensive and easy to make. Inspired by nature, I create these shell candles. Shells can be found very easily on Ossabaw island, and the island also has lots of horseshoe crabs which are big and would make some unique candles.
