Little Willies

Little Willies is a project framed around value construction. By replicating the industrial production methods of sprinkles on a small scale, objects that are only valued for their aesthetic amplification of other foods rather than their own taste or nutritional value are elevated because of their “artisanal making”. The sprinkles are made using a small-scale extruder and small-scale tumbler built by the artist. Building tools that create a product very similar to any store-bought sprinkle highlights production and the information woven into this process as crucial elements in making important something that is without function.
