HAPPY PILLS
This was a Book Arts project. The whole project was completely open to anything, it just had to be an artist book; the theme didn't matter or materials. So it was exciting, as it can always be to have all the liberty in the world, but also it can turn out to be very stressful since there are so many things you can create but then NOTHING comes to mind. This was the case for this book. I had a month to do it and couldn't figure out what I wanted to do, NOTHING sounded like a good idea. Until the last week I had left to make it, inspiration decided to finally make its entrance.

I was at church and this man was giving a talk. To be honest, at this point I don't exactly remember exactly what he talked about but he mentioned happy pills. I can't remember what he said about them but then this is how my brain worked. I have "happy pills" and some times I think I definitely forget to take them. So this how my "Happy Pills" artist book(s) came to be.

I created 6 mini accordion books, each one with a theme from my life that bring me happiness: music, nature, Mexico, food, people, gospel, and art. And then inside each accordion book there are little illustrations about the theme. The covers of each is made from book cover board and the little pills protectors that come with medications. And on the back cover I include a little description of when to take those kinds of pills.
Hope you enjoyed and remember to take your own "happy pills" every day as well!
