OTP - LONDON FASHION WEEK

LONDON FASHION WEEK
Schedule dates : Thursday 14th Feb - Tuesday 19th Feb
Rose McGowan walked the catwalk on Sunday 17/02/2019 in political clothing stating 'Angel' and 'democracy' as part of her activist movement of the #MeToo. This was interesting to see as it demonstrates personal perspectives of political content on such a public level; this for me is inspiring.

FUR FREE
This LFW is also the second to not advertise fur and is fur free due to surveys proving this to be the preferred display of clothing. This highlights another environmental factor of cultural change that has inspired me to look into this further and photograph its presence as a mark of agreement and forward change.

MOTHER OF PEARL
The LFW is also alongside the BBC (producers of Blue Planet) Mother of Pearl talks that focus on the mention of #SustainableMe in terms of fashion choices and positive fashion in relation to the fashion industry producing sustainable choices. This corresponds directly to the fashion industry's impact on the planet. For me, I feel this is a relevant topic to approach and bare in mind when photographing this subject as everything positively natural should be sustained if possible so this highlighted on a catwalk is a great way to express this along with other political and appropriate/relevant topics and suggestions from designers and working partners.

MAYOR OF LONDON'S CAMPAIGN
The #LondonIsOpen campaign looks at keeping a post-Brexit Britain diverse across all nationalities and cultures. This, alike, is a relevant topic that has already come so far but should still be of relevance and spoken of in order to further its achievement.

THE MODEL ZONE
The model zone at LFW is a private space for all models to eat, drink, and relax during the vent but away from the public eye. This is recent introduction due to previous acknowledgements of issues within the modelling world and their health. This zone is hosted by BFC (British Fashion Council) who also have a seasonal helpline number that models can access. This is also a relevant topic to mention and concentrate on as it highlights both sides of the industry that aren't always made of aware of to the general public and this is important in keeping the industry focused on celebrating fashion and creativity.
