Making waves

I believe nothing in the nature is completely random. In this exercise, waves appears as a physical outcome of FRICTIONS created by multiple layers of water skin. This project aim to study the HIDDEN GEOMETRY  underneath the water surface. A series of study models were created in both digital and physical way to experiment and seek the best logical explanation of the creation of waves.

I tried abstract the logic behind the creation of waves and the result is a device like this, i.e. 4 pop sticks with 4 joints, freely movable by applying a directional force.

By compounding the logic, I succeed to recreate waves similar to that in the nature.

I also tried testing out my invention on a sand surface. By testing my device on a sand surface, this is what I've got, the very first landscape I designed.
