Intro to Motion Graphic | Practical

This project is made for a lab session with the purpose of introducing students to the creation of motion graphics using Adobe After Effects. Students have a choice between two examples of motion graphics in which their respective video tutorial are provided.
This project is a recreation of the motion graphic tutorial made by Mt. Mograph.
Some of the effects that can be shown in the video above are:
1. Keyframe animation of a shape from one point to another.
2. Explosion particle effect using shapes.
3. Mask expansion effect as transition.
The final product is a result of iterating Mt tutorial. The main object is a sphere in which appear to be thrown upwards. The sphere then exploded resulting in changing of the background. The sphere is replaced by a second sphere via transition. The second sphere behave strangely as shown by opposing the force of gravity.
Students are given freedom to use whichever colour that they desire. For this project, a personal colour theme is chosen. The colour theme consist of:
The tutorial video serve as the main reference material for this project. It started by creating a new composition in which the assets will be place in. It is in the composition where user can set the resolution and frame rate of the animation. A resolution of 1280 X 720 is chosen and a frame rate of 29.97 is chosen due to the animation being primarily used for web.
First step is to create an object moving in a path, in this case is the sphere. This can be done using the shape tool in the tool bar. When a shape is created, it's attribute can be manually adjusted with the position and scale attribute responsible for the animation. By clicking on the stop watch icon, an instance of the attribute is created and this is used for animating the sphere from one point to the other (the initial and final position of the sphere is set).
The next step is to create an explosion using shapes. This is done by creating a new rounded rectangle shape and animating it to appear to move up and down. A repeater tool is used to clone the rectangle. In the attribute, user can choose how many clones are created and by assigning a rotation of 360 degrees to 10 shapes, a circular explosion can be created.
Lastly, to create a mask expansion transition, a solid white composition is create with a circle mask created inside. The mask expansion attribute is used to animate the illusion of enlarging circle mask. By assigning luma blend of the circle mask onto a composition, it create a seemless transition by revealing the composition when the animation of the mask is completed.

Various modification are made to the original tutorial, with the final product now showing two explosion as two spheres are bouncing. A music track "Get Up" by Big Time Rush is used in the animation to add impact into it. Additionally the circle mask expansion transition is used in the title and the ending of the video.
