The idea of the box isn’t new. History of the industrially prefabricated boxes goes back as far as 200 years. But the idea of stylish, strong, easily transportable and manufacturable modern box seems to be new.
There are many practical as well profit-making reasons why there’s virtually no rectangular looking storage containers available today other than corrugated cardboard box. Most storage containers available today are designed so that the containers can be most efficiently stacked. Therefore, they can’t have rectangular good-looking shape.
The key element of this design is its simple rectangular shape. Having 5 perpendicularly folded sides and 4 interlocking sides will give durability and makes sure, that documents, drawings etc will not be bended.
Technology and materials: Pressed from sheet plastic (e.g. corrugated plastic board)
Next step would be to print out interlocking parts and test different modulations.
Also had to consider if walls need some internal structure for rigidity.
